History

In the summer of 1910, a brush arbor was built about 2 miles east of Marshville, for the purpose of holding church services. A traveling preacher held service for 2 weeks and several persons expressed the desire for another church to be built in the community. On Thanksgiving day that year, some of the same Christian people met again and decided that a new Baptist church should be organized. On December 1st, a group of religious elders met for the purpose of organizing this church.
